Meeting Rooms
Quiet Study Room: The Quiet Study Room is intended primarily for patrons who want a completely silent environment for individual reading or study. The Quiet Study Room is not a private study room—more than one person may use the room at the same time, each for their own individual silent reading or study. If the Quiet Study Room is not already occupied by those using it for silent activities, patrons may be permitted to use the room for up to one hour for activities including talking, discussion, or group study, provided that the sound generated from such activities does not reach a level which could reasonably be expected to disturb other patrons. There is no charge to use the Quiet Study Room and it cannot be reserved in advance.
Meeting Rooms: The library offers small and large meeting rooms that may be rented by individuals or organizations for events that are free and open to the public. Please see the Meeting Room Policy and Meeting Room Application for more information and current rental rates.
Book Bundles
Book Bundles are a selection of items chosen by our staff that are based on your preferences. Click through to the Book Bundle Form, follow the directions, and wait to hear back from our staff.
Technology Help
Do you have a technology question and need a little one-on-one help? We can offer individual assistance with basic questions including using your laptop, help with email, using and searching the internet, and creating and saving documents (to name a few). Appointments need to be made in advance and are scheduled as staff time permits. Just fill out our online form, or ask at the Adult Desk and a staff member will contact you.
MeLCat
To check out items unavailable from the Wayne Public Library and The Library Network (TLN), Wayne patrons are able to place holds through MeLCat. MeLCat is a separate catalog that allows patrons from participating libraries to borrow items from other libraries across the state of Michigan. Simply log in with your name, library card number, and the name of your library!
Online Resources
The Wayne Public Library provides access to various Online Resources for our patrons. These resources include databases for adults, teens, and children, as well as services for checking out and downloading items like audiobooks, ebooks, music, movies, and magazines.
Digital Library Cards
Do you need a library card to access our digital resources but can’t make it to the library in person? If you live in the City of Wayne, you can now request a temporary digital library card online! This will give you a library card number that you can use to download materials and access our online resources. Later, you can come to the library and convert it into a traditional card with full borrowing privileges.
Michigan Activity Pass
Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) is a pass that you checkout from your local library and use as a ticket at one of many Michigan state parks and cultural destinations.
Visit https://miactivitypass.org/ for more information and watch this helpful video, or read this manual on how to check out a Michigan Activity Pass!
Using Other Libraries
You can use your Wayne Public Library card at libraries that are part of The Library Network (TLN) or that participate in the MILibraryCard program. Some restrictions may apply.
