Library wins several grants
The library has recently been awarded several grants that will help us improve our building, programming, and collections! In total, the library will receive over $50,000 in equipment and monetary support.
The Wayne Public Library was awarded an ARPA Equipment Grant to upgrade our aging AV equipment (projectors, speakers, microphones, etc.) Also, through the MI-83 TLC Kits Project administered by The Library Network, we will receive several new laptops as well as online and outdoor programming supplies. Through the MI-83 Digital Library Connection Grant administered by the Lakeland Library Cooperative, we will have access to a large new selection of e-books about job seeking, career development, and physical and mental health. Funding for all of the above is provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan. Finally, from the Ann Arbor chapter of The Awesome Foundation, we’ve received funds to add more contemporary titles by Native and Indigenous authors to the library’s collection.
You’ll start seeing the positive impact of these grants over the next several months, and, we hope, for years to come!
