Please join Police Chief Strong and Zeke, the Wayne Police Department therapy dog, at the Wayne Public Library. Zeke is waiting to have you read him a story.

Earth Day Plants

Earth Day Plants

Tuesday, April 21
6 - 7 p.m.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day by potting a beautiful plant! Kids will learn some basics of potting and plant care and have their very own plant to take home and watch grow. They will get to decorate their own pot before planting their little seedling. All materials will be provided, but dress kids for dirt!

Ages 5 and up with an adult caregiver.


Movie Matinee: Detective Pikachu

1 p.m.

Join us for a screening of Detective Pikachu! Snacks will be provided.

Follow Tim, the 21-year old son of Detective Harry Goodman, as he tries to track down his father with the help of Detective Pikachu.

The movie is rated PG and has a runtime of 104 minutes.

Free Comic Book Day

There will be free comics in both the youth and adult areas. Each person can take one free comic book while supplies last!

Family Book Club

Families with children of all ages

Read The One and Only Ivan at home with your family, then come to the library to discuss the book and share a pizza dinner. Sign up at the Youth Desk and get a free copy of the book while supplies last!

Having spent twenty-seven years behind the glass walls of his enclosure in a shopping mall, Ivan has grown accustomed to humans watching him. He hardly ever thinks about his life in the jungle. But when he meets Ruby, a baby elephant taken from the wild, he is forced to see their home, and his art, through new eyes.
