The W.A.S.P. of Romulus Army Air Field

Join historian Daniel Mason to learn about the Women Airforce Service Pilots and the 107 female pilots who flew aircraft in and out of what is today Detroit Metro Airport.

Thank you to the Wayne Historical Society and the Friends of the Wayne Public Library for sponsoring this event.



Knit and Crochet Nights

Thursday Evenings March 19, April 9, and May 14
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Bring any of your knitting or crocheting supplies and enjoy a casual meet-up with fellow crafters. Knit and Crochet Nights run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. but you're free to drop in at any point during that time to get to know other attendees and to work on your projects.

This is an adult program but teens are welcome to join in as well!



Movie Matinee: Wonder Woman

1 p.m.

Join us for a screening of Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot! Snacks will be provided.

When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true identity.

The movie is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 141 minutes.





Reading Room Dedication

Join the Friends of the Wayne Public Library for a brief ceremony and light refreshments as they dedicate the library's reading room in memory of Ed Marman. A former teacher and librarian, Ed Marman loved reading, music, photography, travel, and all things Irish. He served as president of the Wayne Public Library Board for many years.




An Uncommon Criminal: The Extraordinary Life of Edwin Turner Osbaldeston

Join Kenson Siver, Mayor of Southfield, MI, as he presents stories of his great-grandfather, Edwin Turner Osbaldeston. Osbaldeston was a serial con artist whose 70-year crime spree included masquerading as a doctor, professor, war hero, and more.

Come join us as we discuss the book Black Dove, White Raven by Elizaeth Wein. Read the book on your own, then discuss it with friends while enjoying snacks. Sign up at the adult desk to receive a free copy of the book, while supplies last!

DIA: Behind the Seen - Art/Pride

Art/Pride raises awareness of the significant contributions by LGBT artists and their impact on the art world. These artists are among leaders of modern and contemporary art and have shattered stereotypes and defied prejudice and discrimination on their path to success.

A presenter from the Detroit Institute of Arts will discuss the significant contributions of LGBT artists and their impact on the art world.
